Lou Tafler is the nom de plume of philosopher and author Lou Marinoff (see the Mind, Body, Spirit page of this website). Tafler’s first novel, Fair New World, is a savage satire of radical feminism and political correctness. Libertarian reviewer Karen Selick calls it “the most politically incorrect work of art I have ever seen.” Now in its 25th anniversary edition, Fair New World‘s surrealistic portrayal of delusional feminism run amok has now become prophetic. Reviewers and readers of Fair New World accord Lou Tafler a place among immortal dystopian satirists like Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, and Jonathan Swift. Tafler’s second novel, Eloquent Sinking, is a tragicomic saga set in Atlantic Quebec. “Designed to restore your faith in human depravity,” writes Globe and Mail reviewer Stan Persky. Reviewers of Eloquent Sinking compare Lou Tafler with John Barth, Thomas Pynchon, and Mordecai Richler. No matter which tale he weaves, Tafler’s pen commands inclusion in classic fiction’s pantheon.
